Frequently asked questions.
Find answers to the most common queries about our homes, our process, and what to expect when buying from Lissett. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.
Can I visit a show home near me?
We work closely with a number of high-end lodge parks across the UK. If you’re interested in a particular development, we can often arrange a visit to one of our homes already sited there.
Can I customise the design of my home?
Absolutely. Most parks are happy for you to work with us to create a home that’s tailored to your taste and lifestyle. From layout adjustments to personalised finishes, we’ll help you design something that feels uniquely yours.
Is the design process overwhelming?
Not at all. We’ll guide you every step of the way, and you’re always welcome at the factory to see how things come together. Most of our customers find the process enjoyable.
Can I see the factory and homes under construction?
Yes. We offer factory tours by appointment, where you’ll see multiple homes in production — including kitchens and interiors being built by our skilled team.
Can Lissett produce homes for the physically impaired?
Yes. We can design and build fully accessible homes tailored to individual requirements, from wider doorways to adapted bathrooms and layout changes.
Can I request design changes during the process?
Yes. Our in-house design team uses 3D models and virtual walkthroughs to help you understand how your ideas will come together — and make changes as needed before we build.
What happens during a factory visit?
During your visit, we’ll walk you through the full production facility and showcase the current builds. You’ll also be shown our display area, with fabric swatches, fittings and furniture options.
What is a specification?
You’ll spend time at the factory with our Sale Manager, usually for a few hours, selecting everything from layout tweaks to interior finishes. Once complete, your specification is sent to you within a week or two.
How is the specification produced?
The production of a specification is a pleasant process and consists of spending usually 3-5 hours at Lissett. The Sales Director will assist, advise and guide you through the process from start to finish. You will be selecting all the furnishings, fabrics and fittings for your new home along with finalising the layout.
Lunch is provided at the factory to help make this a pleasant and memorable day.
Once all the information on your new home has been gathered it usually takes 1-2 weeks for the actual document to be made ready and this is then sent out to you via your prospective Park Owner.
Is there much choice when it comes to interiors?
Absolutely. We offer an extensive range of furnishings, fabrics and fittings — and if there’s something you’d prefer to add instead (like your own dining table), just let us know.
Are Lissett homes built to a recognised British Standard?
Yes. Every Lissett home is built to exceed BS 3632 — the British Standard for residential park homes — with enhanced insulation and construction throughout.
Are your homes environmentally efficient?
Yes. Our homes are built with efficiency in mind — from high-performance insulation and A-rated appliances to dual-flush toilets, water-saving taps and low-energy lighting. We also offer air source heat pump solutions, partly installed in-factory and partly installed on-site, and prepare homes for future solar panel installation.
